15.5 is a perfect example of a workout where you need to stay in the rep.  Don't think about the next calorie or the next thruster, think about the rep you are currently performing, each successful attempt a victory, building upon the momentum of the previous.  Don't tell yourself "i can do it" simply because it sounds like right thing to say...tell yourself you can because "nothing can stop me" from getting the next rep.  Don't see 27-21-15-9, see 1 MOre Rep until someone says stop.
