Why you should sign up for the open at games.crossfit.com...
1.  Your friends are.  The open is fun because you get to do it together.
2.  Its a chance to test your fitness.  Rarely do we get a chance to perform such an official test and judges and such an exciting atmosphere.
3.  Its okay if you don't complete or can't do all the workouts.  There will at least be 2 you can do and those will be valuable to compare next year to measure progress.
4.  The intrabox team competition is gonna be AWESOME!  Make yourself eligible!  
5.  You will grow as an athlete and person.
